Developing a Standard Approach to Project Management
Can your organization benefit from adopting a standard approach to managing projects? The answer is yes and developing that approach can be an excellent learning experience for all involved. In her presentation, Nancy Nichols will discuss the reasons for establishing these standards and the importance of integrating them with existing practices and organizational procedures.
Some things to consider:

* What training will be needed?
* What will the end product look like?
* Will everyone follow the process?

Nancy Nichols, MBA, PMP is a Project and Management consultant with varied experience including Operations, Customer Service, Executive and Information Technology Management. As a Vice President and Project Manager for Bank of America, she participated in large merger transition projects and system implementations and received recognition numerous times for staff management, motivation and successful team leadership. She is an Instructor for the Project Management Certificate program at UC Davis Extension and recently received an award for excellence in teaching and outstanding service.
As an independent consultant since 2001, Ms. Nichols has provided her project management and organizational expertise to local and state government, non-profit organizations, and private sector clients. In her current engagement, she is assigned to the Project Management Office of California Prison Health Care Services which is in the process of delivering several court-mandated Health Care improvement projects to California’s correctional institutions. She is an active member and volunteer for PMI’s Sacramento Valley Chapter and has previously served on the PMI-SVC Board of Directors.
